As the Specialized Skill Development (SSD) Trainer at Allegheny Alliance, you will play a critical role in enhancing the adaptive skills, independence, and community integration of the individuals we serve. You will provide leadership in systematic skill-building (SSB) and community support (CS), developing and training staff on techniques to implement skill-driven services. Your expertise in skill acquisition, behavioral support, and staff training will be essential in driving positive client outcomes and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Skill Development and Staff Training
- Lead the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs focused on adaptive skills, including social interaction, household tasks, and employment readiness.
- Collaborate with the Behavioral Specialist and Skill Building Specialist to implement and monitor Skill Building Plans (SBPs) and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs).
- Ensure staff are effectively trained in systematic skill-building (SSB) techniques to promote independence and community integration.
Plan Implementation and Monitoring
- Guide and support staff in the application of SBPs and BSPs, ensuring consistency and fidelity in implementation.
- Monitor client progress on skill development goals and provide ongoing feedback to staff and specialists.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to skill-building goals, making necessary adjustments to training methods based on client needs.
Collaboration and Community Support
- Work closely with interdisciplinary team members, including Behavioral Specialists, Skill Building Specialists, and support staff, to align on client care strategies.
- Serve as a resource for staff, offering expert guidance in the application of skill-building techniques in real-world scenarios.
- Support community integration initiatives by collaborating with external partners and resources to enhance skill development opportunities for individuals.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Allegheny Alliance policies and regulatory requirements related to skill development and behavioral support.
- Maintain thorough documentation of training sessions, staff competencies, and client progress.
- Conduct regular audits of skill-building practices and make recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in skill development, behavioral support, or staff training roles.
- Strong understanding of systematic skill-building (SSB) and community support (CS) strategies.
- Proven experience in implementing Skill Building Plans (SBPs) and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs).
- Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to collect and analyze data to assess client progress and training effectiveness.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to skill development and behavioral support.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Engage with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate effective communication and coordination of care.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of client care strategies.
- Foster a collaborative environment that enhances skill development and supports positive client outcomes.
Budgeting and Resource Management
- Assist in managing resources related to training and skill development initiatives.
