As the Director of Therapy Services at Allegheny Alliance, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating therapy programs and services to ensure the highest level of patient care. You will lead a team of therapists and collaborate with other  professionals to develop and implement therapy strategies, monitor quality of care, and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Team Management:
    • Provide strategic direction, vision, and leadership to the therapy services department.
    • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate therapy staff, ensuring the development of a competent and motivated team.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and professional growth.
    • Set performance expectations, establish goals, and provide ongoing feedback and recognition to therapy staff.
  2. Program Development and Implementation:
    • Develop and implement therapy programs and services that align with the organization’s goals and meet the needs of patients.
    • Collaborate with therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to establish evidence-based treatment protocols and clinical pathways.
    • Monitor industry trends, research, and best practices to ensure the continuous enhancement of therapy services.
    • Stay updated on regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and compliance in therapy practice.
  3. Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement:
    • Implement quality assurance programs to monitor and evaluate therapy services, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
    • Analyze performance metrics, patient outcomes, and patient satisfaction data to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging staff engagement in quality initiatives and evidence-based practice.
    • Collaborate with the quality management team to conduct audits, address compliance issues, and drive performance improvement.
  4. Budgeting and Resource Management:
    • Develop and manage the therapy services department budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
    • Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to achieve financial goals.
    • Optimize the utilization of therapy equipment, supplies, and resources to maximize efficiency and quality of care.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Foster effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, administrators, and other department leaders.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, committees, and projects to ensure coordinated patient care and enhance integration of therapy services.
    • Serve as a liaison between therapy services and other departments to facilitate seamless workflows and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  6. Compliance and Regulatory Standards:
    • Ensure therapy services comply with all applicable regulatory requirements, professional standards, and licensing regulations.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with legal and organizational guidelines.
    • Participate in internal and external audits, surveys, and inspections to ensure compliance and address any identified deficiencies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a therapy discipline (e.g., Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology) or a related field.
  • Current and active licensure as a therapist in the relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a therapy services department or related healthcare setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of therapy practice, techniques, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance, and accreditation standards.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to drive program development and performance improvement.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in using therapy-related technology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
